Suggest strongly against purchasing this item based on posted picture. The picture of the Alex Ross SM Action Figure appears to have been altered to make item look bolder / dynamic than the actual item (picture looks like it is based on a drawing of comic book artist Ron Frenz). While actual Alex Ross SM Action Figure is OK it is nothing like the posted picture. I strongly considered returning the item, but instead just decided I will not purchase another Action Figure from Amazon. Fool me once...





Not What It Looks Like - Eugene O' Neal Mobley -
This Superman figure looks nothing like the picture that represents it. I was very upset when I received it in the mail. I collect different superman things, but this looks nothing like the picture that Amazon is using to sell it.





Not perfect--wrong colors! - Larry Talbot - Seattle
This toy is modeled after Alex Ross' version of Superman, which means you have an obnoxiously huge 'S' symbol. All-in-all, the action figure is okay, if you can get past the size of the 'S' and the fact that the figure has a scowl rather than a heroic, confident look on the face. My biggest criticism is that the 'S' symbol is red and orange, and not red and yellow as it should be. (This is true of the three figures that I own and all the figures--maybe 20--that I have seen in stores.) The wrong color is especially odd given the fact that the Bizzaro action figure has an 'S' symbol that is red and yellow--go figure!

I just picked one up at ross and they were on clearance and were selling for .99.This toy is great and I know I have read reviews that this toy is very loud and he certainly is and adults get annoyed a lot by it but kids love this toy and it is great and I was wrong about this toy and it is an outstanding toy and this toy is a MUST-HAVE for a superman fan and you got to get this toy and it is soo cool that it has heat vision sounds and flight sounds and crushing sounds and this one is so much better than the 10 inch superman and it could be a loud toy but it is certainly fun for me and just skip the reagular supermans and pick up this ultra cool toy and this one FINALLY has knee joints and he is a big figure and this is the LOUDEST toy I heard but it is certainly good and the noise doesn't bother me and this is just the must -have for a superman fan and it is on clearance and this one was just the coolest thing on earth to play with and this toy is highly recommended.

Wonderful toy - Incandesia - San Antonio, Tx
My 3 y/o son got this Superman for Christmas in 2006. 4 months of hard play later, he's still intact and going strong. The toy is a little loud, but then, so is my son. :-) I was a little worried about the cape getting broken, because it looked fragile at first, but the plastic "arms" that make it move are very flexible and can get crushed, smooshed and stepped on and just bounce back.
This is a great toy.

I grabbed this one on sale, right before Superman Returns figures came out and I'm glad I got one! This guy's cape blows in the wind when he flies and makes a super sonic sound. Plus, gotta love those x-ray eyes! Super fun and tons of entertainment for little guys. Highly recommend!

THIS IS AN AWESOME SET FOR ANY AND ALL BATMAN OR SUPERMAN FANS! Not only are these action figures great to play with, but they are more affordable and look every bit as good as the DC Direct verions of Batman and Superman of the same size. The articulation is average for both of them. Batman doesn't have elbow joints--but neck, shoulders, wrists, waist, hips, and knees are movable. Batman's belt buckle comes off to become brass knuckles that you can place in either hand for the extra tough villans who need to be brought down a few pegs. Superman does have joints at his elbows and his ankles and everywhere else that Batman does, but his cape pretty much doesn't move at all. It's is made of flexible plastic and is secured in place VERY well so that the chances of it coming off or moving are slim to none. The range of motion for Superman at his elbows, hips, and knees are also somewhat limited. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this item. It is worth the money you spend on it.

Cool pocket-sized guys that go everywhere. Priced right so you can get enough for some really interesting battle interaction and enough to share with everyone! They're not as articulated as some but then, their arms and legs don't pop off as easily either. I particularly like the different materials used in the capes, hair and bodies. This is a nice Superman piece but it is not a paperweight. It is heavy enough to be but there are too many parts to fall off if you move it and one does have to move paperweights fairly often. There is a Superman insignia that is separate from the base yet fits into the base that will fall out when the base is picked up. There are 2 rock formations that are separate from the base that easily fall out. The Superman figure stands freely on the base and will topple with the slightest movement. It does look good but it is not a paperweight unless you glue the pieces together.
