DC Comics First Appearances Series 3 Figure: Composite Superman

Product Description

When a lightning bolt bestowed all the combined powers of the Legion of Super-Heroes to janitor Joe Meach in 1964's WORLD'S FINEST #142, the villainous Composite Superman was born! This figure features multiple points of articulation, includes a base and a mini-reproduction of the comic in which the character first appeared, and is packaged in a 4-color deluxe blister.

This toy has been a wonderful addition to our super hero collection! The two greatest superheroes forming one villian was a great idea and my son loves to pick this out of the "hundreds" of toys that he has--I didn't know what to put for "educational value"--He learned that two halves make a whole and when you combine things the possibilities are endless--(Imagination-wise it is a "10")!! The toy arrived quickly and packaged safely so the box was not dented if we were a "collector" and not a "player"---But we ripped ours out of the box the second it came in and have been playing with it ever since--Thank You!

I jumped at the opportunity to add this action figure to my super hero collection when I first learned of its availability early in 2005. I don't recall this particular figure ever being done in the past so I purchased it as soon as it became available. The figure is based on the 1964 first appearance in World's Finest #142. The villainous character was born from a lightning bolt that bestowed all the combined powers of the Legion of Super Heroes to a janitor named Joe Meach. A mini comic of the first appearance is included along with a nice base to mount the action figure. The figure is nicely done, in my opinion, with Tim Bruckner, the sculptor, doing great justice to the character. Who knows how long this will be available, so why wait? Whether it's for collectable reasons or a toy to give to the kids to play with, go and purchase this nifty little item today!

This is an incredible rendering from a comic book drawing to actual figurine with close attention to details. For anyone wanting to own a 3-dimensional piece of the past from comic books at their "World's Finest", I would recommend getting this item before it becomes listed as "unavailable". My son has also enjoyed this super villain with the understanding that it can not be played with like the more durable action figures.
